This solo project was created for my Digital Video Production final. The project was free-form, and only asked of us to create a video using the digital video principles we learned up to that point. This included different uses of frame-rates, aspect ratio, exposure, and editing techniques.
A very short solo animation skit made for my Intro to Animation Class. The goal of the project was to create an animation inspired by an artist. I parodied Salvador Dali's The Persistence of Memory piece by recreating his "blob-like" persona and surrealist themes. I animated and voiced the character on my own.
This video was created for my Video Writing Production Class. Our goal was to simply create a one minute video with a consistent motif through out the video. My motif was a small figure I labeled as "The Project". In this video, I tried to express the feeling of putting a lot of time and energy into a project, to then realize it was only a small piece of a bigger picture.
This video was created with a group for a comedy literature class called "Funny Pages". Our goal as to create a skit that related to the vocabulary we learned in class. This video was inspired by a situation that would always happen at our friend group, making the comedy based on reality. The comedy mostly comes from the repetition, physical humor, absurdist humor, and farce moments. I wrote, edited and filmed the project with a team of three.
This video was created with a group for a comedy literature class called "Funny Pages". Our goal was to create a skit that related to the vocabulary we learned in class. This video mostly came from our interest in cryptids, and we decided to create a parody/satire on monster hunter TV shows. We joked that the hunters in those shows would never find Bigfoot, because if they did, the show would end. I wrote, filmed, and edited the project with a team of three.
A surreal video I created for my job at the Video Production Team. The goal for this was to utilize green screen effects to tell your personal story. I like to keep my story a mystery, so I made this instead to at least meet the green screen requirement.
A short created for my job at the Video Production Team. The goal of this project was to mimic the style of a famous director. I decided to mimic the style of Wes Anderson by making this top down shot feel like an asymmetrical composition. I filmed, acted, and edited the project with a team of two.
A short skit I created for my job at the Video Production Team. The goal of this project was to create a narrative with no dialogue, and so I wrote a script and utilized sound effects to create a simple, and silly narrative. I story-boarded, filmed, acted, and edited the project with a team of two.
A short skit I created for my job at the Video Production Team. The goal of this project was to create a video that utilized the rule of thirds in a different way. For The Syllabus, I aligned everything around the rule of thirds, rather, than aligned everything along it. I wrote, filmed, acted, and edited the project with my friend Ariell Chilcote.
This video was created for a monthly project requirement for the Juniata College Video Production Team. Our goal was to figure out how to create a short "kinetic type" video for a song of our choice. For this project, I decided on the main chorus of the song 911/Mr. Lonely by Tyler the Creator. I took time to learn how to use Adobe After Effects to create the visuals I wanted.
This video was created for my Video Writing Production Class. Our goal was to create a short documentary about something important to us. My video was about my grandmother, Margarita Perez, and her outlook on the effects of Hurricane Maria. It was fascinating to get out of my comfort zone and create a type of video I had never made before. I learned how to construct an interview, and structure the answers into a clear narrative.
